The Declaration of Independence promised a new nation—an experiment in self-government based on the inalienable rights of equality, security, freedom, and happiness. Generations have carried this experiment onward, writing the chapters of our story one moment at a time.
Moments that Made Us tells those stories through American artifacts selected to represent our struggles, triumphs, and resilience—the turning points that changed everything. Opened at the History Colorado Center in Denver in 2025, the exhibition of more than fifty treasures spans eight hundred years of American history.
It’s the story of how we became US. Our story was never inevitable. We shaped it at every turn.
